HISTORY

Founded in 2023 J. Walker Transportation was founded with our employees and customers in mind. With 12 years experience we know what both our drivers and our customers need. Our goal is to put control back in the hands of our customers.

 

J. Walker Transportation was founded with the help of many individuals one of whom always  encouraged us to work hard for what you want but more importantly, be joyful and do what makes you happy. Cindy always encouraged us to look inward and look to God in every situation. Unfortunately Cindy is no longer with us but will never be forgotten.  We know she is with us in spirit and can feel her with us every step of the way. 

COMMUNICATION

We believe the most important thing for our customers is communication. While we do work with brokers our goal is to work directly with our customers in an effort to provide the best customer service experience.

In our time working for other carriers we have noticed the #1 problem is lack of communication between the carrier, broker, and customer. Our goal is to book loads directly with the customer. We believe that our customers should know what is happening with their freight from the time the load is booked until the load is delivered successfully, safely and punctually.

TECHNOLOGY

One thing that sets our company apart from others is that we also have a background in technology. Our Company has programed a CSM Software that not only helps us keep track of our customers, loads and brokers but also sends direct and instant notifications from the driver. 

As soon as a driver starts a load they will submit a macro to the carrier using AI which will provide the carrier and customer with an automated update notifying them that they are in route to the shipper. The Driver will also submit a macros which will appraise the carrier and customer of the drivers ETA’s Arrival, Departure and delays to a facility. In doing so we believe that this puts the control back in the customers hands helping them better plan for the drivers arrival and notify their customers of any delays in their product.

Our Company also provides its customers with a link to access GPS tracking so they can know exactly where their freight is at any given time while the driver is in route.

SAFETY

While delivering your freight on time is always our priority, we believe that safety should always be #1.  All of our drivers are encouraged to drive according to the current road and weather conditions. Our drivers work closely with our drive managers to keep a close eye on weather and road closures in an effort to keep your freight moving. However, if it is safer for a driver to pull over and wait a storm out we do encourage them to do so.

Ultimately if the driver gets in an accident you don’t get your freight, which is why we rely on our drivers and their judgement in the decision to continue or wait out a storm.

EQUIPMENT

Next to Safety we believe that our equipment is just as important you need Trucks that you can count on. We provide our drivers with low millage trucks to help make sure that you don’t have equipment delays and that our drivers don’t have down time while on the road. We also have multiple safety features installed on our truck to help the driver along their route such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure alerts, dual facing dash cameras, Garmin GPS with live updates for traffic, road and weather closures, as well as onboard tablets to meet the FMSA ELD compliance mandate.

All of our Trucks are also CARB idle compliant and are equipped with APU’s in an attempt to lower our carbon footprint and cut back on Idling time.
